We all know where we were on September 11. I was a senior in high school and getting ready for school and my mom called me into her room to watch this story on a plane that went into the World Trade Center, we then saw the second plane go into the other tower and my mom screamed. Her cousin worked in the World Trade Center.
The worst part was watching those Towers collapse. Even TEN years later, watching all the specials and the playbacks over again, that is the part that really just takes my breath away and I just cry. We have come a long way since then and even with the death of Osama Bin Laden, it does not mean the death of Al Qaeda.
I did not do anything too special on this day, just spent time with my family. My husband had to go to work last night and I was therefore left without a car, so I didn't get to go to the 9/11 memorial they did at New York, New York Hotel last night. But that is okay becuz I spend the day reflecting and watching TV, talked to my mom on the phone. Did things I thought was important. At one point, Savannah looked up at the TV and said, "Mom, I don't like this movie." Yeah, maybe I will wait a couple more years to explain a little history about our country.
